Bob Wilkinson
- opened on the 20th March 1909. By the 1930s it became apparent that a larger appliance hall was required to accommodate the larger, motorised appliances then used. A new engine house was built to the east, fronting onto the corner of Argyle Road. It was opened on 18th October 1938
Steve Greenaway
- Southampton Central (much later, 'St Marys') before the 1938 extension that added 5 bays, also turning out onto St Marys Rd but almost Brintons Rd too. I think that the foreground structure was used as SFB HQ until Redbridge Hill opened and then possibly demolished to make the drill yard (which was little more than a postage stamp!). The part visible to the rear and through the arch was known in my time as 'the Old Appliance Room'. The original station was built in 1919
